The Day Shipping and Receiving Operations Lead will ensure next-day orders are staged, inspected, secured, and ready for the night loading crew while supporting accurate inventory, safe shipping and receiving, will call operations, and Dispatch. 
 
Primary deliverable: The night crew begins its shift with tomorrow's work ready, clearly organized, and with known issues already identified and communicated.   
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities 
 
Order Preparation and Staging  
  • Pull bulk items required for next-day orders.  
  • Stage completed orders in designated areas for the night loading crew.  
  • Verify staged orders are organized, clearly identified, and ready for loading.  
  • Identify missing or incomplete items before orders are turned over to the night crew.  
  • Prioritize staging based on next-day route and departure requirements.  
Will Call Operations  
  • Manage the will call window for customer pickups and returns.  
  • Verify customer and order information before releasing equipment.  
  • Ensure returned items are properly received and directed to the appropriate processing area.  
  • Communicate will call issues, shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the appropriate department.  
Inventory and Quality Control  
  • Work with Inventory to investigate and correct inventory count discrepancies.  
  • Inspect items being staged to ensure they are clean, complete, undamaged, and fit for delivery.  
  • Remove damaged or unacceptable equipment from the delivery process and report it appropriately.  
  • Help identify recurring inventory shortages or quality issues that could impact upcoming orders.  
Skid and Load Readiness  
  • Inspect completed skids before they are released for loading.  
  • Verify skids are properly wrapped, secured, labeled, and safe for transit.  
  • Confirm items are stacked in a manner that minimizes the risk of damage during transportation.  
  • Flag unsafe, unstable, overweight, or improperly prepared skids for correction before loading.  
Shipping and Receiving  
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound carriers.  
  • Load and unload Transfer trailers  
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against available shipping documentation.  
  • Identify and report shortages, overages, or damaged freight.  
  • Ensure received freight is moved to the proper staging or storage location.  
  • Maintain an organized shipping and receiving area so docks remain accessible and safe.  
Dispatch and Transportation Support  
  • Assist Dispatch with operational needs throughout the day.  
  • Help locate products, orders, skids, or equipment needed for upcoming routes.  
  • Communicate order-readiness issues that could affect scheduled departures.  
  • Assist with last-minute order changes, additions, pickups, or transportation needs.  
  • Coordinate with Dispatch and the night loading crew to ensure priority routes are ready on time.  
Day Lead Responsibilities  
  • Serve as the primary daytime point of contact for shipping and receiving activity.  
  • Coordinate priorities between Warehouse, Inventory, Dispatch, and the night loading team.  
  • Monitor next-day order readiness throughout the shift rather than waiting until the end of the day.  
  • Escalate shortages, damaged inventory, incomplete orders, or other issues that could affect next-day service.  
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe staging, dock, and will call areas.  
  • Provide a clear handoff to the night loading crew, including what is ready, what is still outstanding, and any known problems requiring follow-up.

  • Perform additional duties as required. 
End of Shift Handoff  
  • Before leaving, the Day Lead should communicate what is complete, what remains outstanding, shortages or quality concerns, priority routes, and any issues requiring follow-up by the night loading crew or Dispatch. 
Qualifications 
  • 3+ years of warehouse shipping, receiving, or logistics experience. 
  • Prior experience leading a small team or acting as a shift lead preferred. 
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory control systems, load sheets, and freight handling. 
  • Ability to operate forklifts/tow motors safely and train others on proper usage. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
Compensation, Benefits, and Perks   
  • Pay: $22 per hour 
  • Health, dental, vision, and 401(k) eligibility after 60 days.    
  • 96 hours PTO annually (prorated based on hire date).

Compensation: $22.00 per hour
